Frequently asked questions

Do you offer in-person therapy?

At this time, In the Stillness Counseling only provides tele-health therapy. The benefit of this is that you can be located anywhere in North Carolina vs. limited to seeking services in a specific area.

Do you take insurance?

In the Stillness Counseling can currently accept Clients with Aetna, Cigna, and CBHA insurance and is in the process of being able to accept BCBS, United Healthcare, Optum, and Oscar Health plans.

What is your self-pay rate?

For uninsured Clients or Clients who have insurance with a company that Geneva is not in-network with, the cost is $100 per 53-minute session. Limited sliding scale options are available upon request and are determined on a case-by-case basis.

I noticed you offer faith-based counseling. I am not a Christian. Can I still see you?

Yes, absolutely! The majority of Geneva’s professional experience has been in secular environments working with Clients from all walks of life. Faith-based therapy is an option for those seeking that specific service, but it is never pushed on any individual.

Do you work with children?

I believe I do my best therapeutic work with adults. For this reason, I only provide therapy to individuals aged 17+.

What is your cancelation policy?

To get the most out of therapy, it’s important for Clients to attend their appointments, but life happens and everyone needs to cancel sometimes. Clients are asked to give at least a 24-hour notice when they need to cancel their appointment. If a Client cancels their session in less than 24-hours, they will be charged $50. Clients who no-show their appointment, will be charged the full self-pay fee of $100 and possibly dismissed from the practice.
